A wonderful pair of silver pot pourri dishes, one Dublin and one London, by Crichton & Co.
The Dublin piece was made in 1919, and weighs 357grams. It bears Irish hallmarks, and is stamped Crichton Bros, London & New York
The London piece was made in 1922, and weighs 382grams. It bears London hallmarks and is engraved Crichton & Co Ltd, New York and Chicago/ Made in England
The pieces are clearly made to go together, though there are minor differences between them, such as the bend on the flower stem of the finial, and slight differences in the decoration.
The firm was established in London as Crichton Bros. c. 1890, operating a branch in
New York 1912-1936 and had a Chicago branch which opened in 1916.
